Maarten van Buuren is a corporate and commercial law specialist. He is an all-round business lawyer, and a litigation practitioner. Maarten has over 20 years of legal experience as an attorney, and is a part-time lecturer in corporate and company law at Leiden University (Private Law Institute, Business Law Department) in Leiden, the Netherlands.
Before joining WLP-Law at the end of 2013, Maarten has been working in the area of corporate and company law since 1993. He has been attorney and advisor for Netherlands’ based national and international public and private mid-market, and family owned, businesses and investment funds. Maarten has worked with clients in a number of industries, including food, fashion, logistics, life sciences, chemical, ICT, health and retail. He built great expertise in handling large and complex issues, such as joint ventures and partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, liability of directors and shareholders, corporate restructuring, corporate litigation and arbitration, and commercial contracts.
Maarten’s current focus is on company advice on complex corporate and commercial issues, in particular concerning joint ventures and partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, management buyout, management buy-in, commercial contracts, and on corporate litigation.
Before joining WLP-Law Maarten was, amongst others, managing partner of a top 50 law firm. Maarten is a member of the Corporate Litigation Association.
